Healthbase Australia has been an important online source of e-health ( now digital health ) information for over 15 years.

History

Established in 1999, Healthbase Australia commenced its online presence with a catalogue of online health related sites. This resource was described in a publication and presentation at the Australian Health Informatics Society (HIC) conference in Adelaide in July 2000, recommending the adoption of XML and RDF based metadata techniques to describe online health-related websites.
Not long after this, the Google search engine took the online web world by storm.

Healthbase Australia provides a range of free resources that either paint a picture of the Australian Digital Health Landscape, or provide specific, detailed, often technical information for health informatics professionals.
